We are excited to host an open talk today with artist, writer and curator, Professor Raimi Gbadamosi. The talk will focus on canon formations, how the idea of Fine Art is defined by canon formation, who is in the canon, and how those accepted make it in. Prof. Gbadamosi will use his current exhibition, Cemetery, as the basis of his presentation.

This talk, the eleventh edition of the Speaker Series, marks the first Speaker Series event for the year and will be followed by more to come. The Speaker Series is a programme of talks on the curatorial, exhibition-making and exhibition histories hosted by the CCA’s Nancy Dantas.

For more information on today’s open talk, as well as Prof. Gbadamosi himself, see the event’s poster here.

Talk Venue: Anatomy Lecture Theatre in the Centre for Curating the Archive (Old Medical School Building, Michaelis School of Fine Art)

Time: 4:30pm-6pm
