‘Drawing from the ground’ exhibition at the Bindery, Michaelis School of Fine Art
The Drawing from the ground exhibition opens at the Bindery today. Drawing from the ground is an exhibition of drawings and pastels produced by learners from the Frank Joubert Art Centre during a workshop presented within the ‘Fieldworks’ project at the CCA.
For this workshop, a hands-on pastel-making and drawing demonstration and workshop was presented by Jeannette Unite, in context of her research into Earth extracted material, and the Earth as archive of memory in deep time. Nick Zachariou presented a talk on archeological methodology and knowledge production concerning the past. A drawing session was facilitated by Marelize Raubenheimer, Jane Weight and Bridget Simons. Exhibition curated by Carine Zaayman, Nina Liebenberg and Bridget Simons.
Please join us for an informal opening on 1 October, 16h30 in the Bindery at the Michaelis School of Fine Art.
