Bleek and Lloyd saved!
I just got the wonderful news that while there is a lot of water damage in the basement BC 151 is intact and safe!
I know you will all share my relief and pleasure and joy that this astonishing treasure, the love of many of our academic lives, has survived the fire. Sadly there were some of Dorothea’s photographs that were in the reading room that have been lost, our consolation here is that they were digitised.
My own catholic background permits me to imagine an act of intercession from the mother of this collection, Lucy Lloyd! Thanks be.
