The poor performance of the South African government in delivering food in the first months of the 2020 lockdown was subjected to more criticism by Jeremy Seekings in a webinar. The webinar, organised by the 'Food Governance Community of Practice' (hosted by the DSI-NRG Centre of Excellence in Food Security, at the University of the Western Cape and elsewhere) focused on Child Nutrition during Covid-19. Jeremy's presentation was based on his CSSR Working Paper 455, with updates on the successful court cases brought against the government by civil society organisations to ensure the full reopening of school and preschool feeding schemes. You can access an audio visual recording of the meeting here and a written report, including links to the presentations, here.
