The Centre for Social Science Research and the Institute for Democracy, Citizenship and Public Policy in Africa invite your to join us for our lunchtime seminar series. Academics, researchers, policy makers, and key stakeholders from around the globe deliver seminars on a wide range of interdisciplinary topics.

These events run weekly during the academic year on Tuesdays from 12:45 - 14:00 (SAST) in the CSSR Seminar Room at the Leslie Social Sciences Building at the University of Cape Town.

The Institute for Democracy, Citizenship and Public Policy in Africa was established in 2017 to conduct research into the factors that strengthen and sustain democracy across Africa. It is dedicated to the critical reexamination of democracy in Africa and the development of Africa-centric theory through systematic empirical research and a critical engagement with scholarship on other parts of the world.

The Centre for Social Science Research is an interdisciplinary research centre at the University of Cape Town dedicated to conducting and building capacity for systematic, policy-relevant social science research in South Africa, the region and across Africa. Methodologically, CSSR research is empirical, problem-driven and we utilise both quantitative and qualitative strategies of data collection.
