Contestation over baboon management in Cape Town

Baboon management in Cape Town is the subject of ongoing controversy between those adopting an ecological approach (including coercion and euthanasia) and those either hoping to coexist with baboons in urban spaces, or use incentive and waste management to keep them out. This presentation reviews the relevant history and debates, highlighting the politics, ethics and economics involved.
