Dr. Pertina Nyamukondiwa is a Junior Research Fellow at the Centre for Social Science Research. In this role she is currently conducting and coordinating literature reviews on drivers of HIV incidence and risk exposure in Adolescent Girls and Young Women in five Global Fund countries. She also supports evidence reviews on appropriate interventions for reducing HIV risk. She is also an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Rural Development, University of Venda. Dr. Pertina Nyamukondiwa holds a PhD in Rural Development, a Masters in Rural Development, and a BA(Hons) in International Relations.  She has previously served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Risk and Vulnerability Science Centre, Afromontane Research Unit at the University of the Free State, and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Rural Development, University of Venda. She has experience in qualitative research and her research interests include food security, climate change, resilience, water security, rural development and HIV and AIDS.
