Biography  

Silinganisiwe Dzumbunu is a PhD Candidate and researcher at the Adolescent Accelerate Research Hub at the Centre for Social Science Research at the University of Cape Town (UCT). She holds an MPhil in Demography, UCT, as well as a BSc(Hons) in Operations Research and Statistics from the Zimbabwe National University of Science and Technology. She is currently completing her PhD in Demography at UCT, investigating the relationship between adolescent empowerment and, sexual and reproductive health. She is in her fellowship year at the Public Health Association of South Africa. She has received prestigious fellowships and funding from the CSSR, the National Insititute of Health, and the Hewlett-Packard Foundation. Her research explores the relationship between adolescent empowerment and sexual and reproductive health outcomes; and in identifying interventions that accelerate SDG achievement, including reproductive health outcomes among African adolescents.
