Thobani Ncapai

Biography  

Thobani Ncapai is an activist and fieldwork researcher from the Alfred Ndzo District in the Eastern Cape. He moved to the Western Cape in January 1998 for health reasons. In 1999 Thobani joined the Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) as an activist advocating for quality and dignified healthcare services for people living with HIV. He has been working at the Centre for Social Science Research (CSSR) for a number of years, first in the Aids and Societies Unit (ASRU) and now across the various CSSR units. He has worked on various research projects as a fieldworker, especially in areas relating to HIV/AIDS. He is a proud father of two children, a boy and a girl.
