Biography
Yanga joined the Accelerate Hub as a Research Assistant in 2024. She is currently part of the Khanyisa Ngemfundo study which focuses on supporting pregnant and mothering learners’ return to school. In her role she contributes to facilitation, data collection and management, and analysis. Before this role she was a Senior Research Assistant for the HEYBABY study, working under Oxford Research South Africa. Yanga has previous experience in the academic mentorship of young people and working in a rural community-based organisation. She holds an LLB degree from the University of South Africa and is currently pursuing her LLM in Human Rights Law at the University of Cape Town. Yanga’s research interests include adolescent pregnancy and motherhood, HIV, and children’s rights.
