Biography
Yusra Price is an independent anthropologist, facilitator and qualitative researcher working across many interrelated practices. She holds a Masters in Anthropology from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and specializes in storytelling and arts-based practices. She currently serves as a Junior Research Fellow at the Adolescent Accelerator Research Hub at the Centre for Social Science Research. Her work at the CSSR primarily focuses on the Teen Advisory Groups, engaging with adolescents and young people with HIV.
She is a core member of the ibali network, supported by the Open University, which focuses on the inclusion and exclusion of learners in education between the UK, South Africa and Nigeria. The research project uses a transformative storytelling approach with learners and teachers to understand how the process of inclusion and exclusion occurs in secondary schools. Her main roles are facilitation and ethnography.
She uses a range of arts-based activities to encourage conversation and innovation within group settings. This has been used in research practice, storytelling workshops and transformative committee goal-setting and practice.
