The Optimus Study is the first-ever nationally representative study of child maltreatment in the country. This data will be enormously useful for service planning and for understanding violence against South African children.  In addition to our own Associate Professor Catherine Ward, the team included staff from UCT's Gender, Health and Justice Research Unit, and the Centre for Justice and Crime Prevention, and was funded by the UBS Optimus Foundation.  The report can be downloaded here.
