Dr Josh Davis from Greenwich University visited the department in July 2019 to present his work on 'super-recognisers', conducted in collaboration with the metropolitan Police, London. Super-recognisers score in the top .05  percentile on face recognition tests. These super-recognisers have proved invaluable in scanning video records from the extensive CCTV networks in London, in the search for missing and wanted people. Dr Davis investigates the basis for their extraordinary performance. Interested parties can find his research listed on Google Scholar. Students and staff alike engaged in conversation with Dr Davis after his talk in the department.
