Applications are invited for a full-time permanent appointment at the Lecturer level in the Department of Historical Studies, University of Cape Town. The Department is a leading centre for critical historical scholarship in Africa.

Requirements:

• A PhD in History or a cognate discipline. Exceptional candidates nearing the completion of PhD may also be considered for the position.
• Undergraduate teaching experience.

Recommendations:

• Peer-reviewed research publications will be an advantage.
• Experience in digitally enabled public-oriented history will be very positively considered.
