Biography  

Phatiswa Somdaka is the Communications Assistant  for the Global Parenting Initiative (GPI). The GPI is a multi-country collaborative research project and is part of the Safety and Violence Initiative at the Centre for Social Science Research. She was born and bred in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa. She holds an Honours Degree in Corporate Communications obtained at the prestigious Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (currently known as Nelson Mandela University).  Phatiswa has communications experience in both the public and private sectors. Her professional experience includes media relations, stakeholder engagement, public relations, and internal and external communications. Phatiswa is passionate about human rights, environmental activism, and equality.
