Funding at CAS 

  • The Jack Simons Bursary is available to students who are studying for a Diploma and Honours degree in the Centre for African Studies and who have permanent residence in the African continent. Selection criteria are based on academic merit and equity.
  • The Harry Oppenheimer Institute (HOI) Scholarship is available to Masters and Doctoral students residing in the African continent who are undertaking research in the area of African Studies.   • The CAS Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme under the auspices of the AC Jordan Chair in African Studies.
