In April 2012, the APC initiative will be hosting Ann Cvetkovich, Ellen C Garwood Centennial Professor of English and Professor of Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Texas at Austin.

During her visit, Cvetkovich will be participating in the first APC workshop of 2012, as well as presenting a seminar on The Queer Art of the Counterarchive.

Cvetkovich is the author of Mixed Feelings: Feminism, Mass Culture, and Victorian Sensationalism (Rutgers, 1992) and An Archive of Feelings: Trauma, Sexuality, and Lesbian Public Cultures (Duke, 2003). She co-edited, with Ann Pellegrini, 'Public Sentiments', a special issue of The Scholar and Feminist Online, and, with Janet Staiger and Ann Reynolds, Political Emotions (Routledge, 2010).

She has also been co-editor, with Annamarie Jagose, of GLQ:  A Journal of Lesbian and Gay Studies. Inspired by Public Feelings groups in Chicago, Austin, and New York, she recently completed a book called Depression: A Public Feeling (Duke, forthcoming 2012).

Her new writing projects are focused on the current state of LGBT archives and the creative use of these archives by artists.
