Harriet Deacon

 

 

Dr Harriet Deacon is a heritage consultant in the UK, an expert facilitator on the UNESCO Intangible Heritage Section’s capacity building programme, a guest lecturer in heritage management at the University of Mauritius, and a correspondent to the Archival Platform, currently running their twitter feed. She was the first Director of the Platform in 2009, after working in the heritage sector in South Africa for ten years. She has written on traditional male circumcision, AIDS-related stigma, intangible heritage and heritage policy. Her research focuses on the Intangible Heritage Convention, intellectual property and public policy.
