The University of Cape Town's Department of Knowledge and Information Stewardship (DKIS) hosted its much-anticipated Open Day at its new office space, AC Jordan Level 5 (Former Anthropology floor). They welcomed students colleagues and friends of the Department. The event provided colleagues with an opportunity to visit the department's new space.

DKIS is a leading academic department at UCT whose mission is to take the leadership role in providing transformative and innovative library and information studies teaching, learning and research, informed by their location in Africa . They offer a range of programmes designed to equip students with the skills needed for careers in librarianship, archives, records management, and information governance. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and promoting responsible information stewardship, DKIS plays a crucial role in shaping the future of knowledge management in South Africa and beyond.

The event also celebrated a PhD graduate (Dr Thembani Malapela) who received his doctoral degree on 1 April 2025.
