Biography  

Genevieve Haupt Ronnie joined the Centre for Social Science Research at the University of Cape Town in January 2020, she is the Community of Practice Officer at the Safety and Violence Initiative. She is currently leading the qualitative component of the Scale-up of Parenting Evaluation Research also known as the SUPER-study in the Safety and Violence Initiative Unit at the CSSR. She holds a Master's degree in Research Psychology from the University of the Western Cape.She previously worked as a researcher and project manager on several collaborative research studies investigating personal mobile device use in teaching and learning based in the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching at UCT. And before joining UCT she worked in the Education and Skills Development Unit at the Human Sciences Research Council from (2009-2015) as a junior researcher in the areas of social justice and inequalities in the broader realm of Education. Her current work has enabled her to engaged with adolescents at their different life stages. While her early career research focus was largely on adolescents and higher education. Since joining the CSSR her focus has expanded to adolescent health, including sexual and reproductive health and mental well-being.
