I'm a final year master's student specializing in Historical Studies at the University of Cape Town. My work broadly focuses on the convening of post-apartheid public life through specifically looking at the organization known as CONTRALESA (Congress of Traditional Leaders of South Africa) in the years between 1987-1993. It pays special attention to how this organization and its adherents mobilize different identities to appeal to the demands and expectations of post-apartheid public life.
