Charlotte Johnson

After completing her undergraduate degree at UCT, Johnson reluctantly registered for Honours in the Department of Social Anthropology in 2011. This reluctance turned into delight as she was able to do her field research in Johannesburg, trying to surface the meaning of public art in the City, as seen through the lens of tender consortium, The Trinity Session. The dissertation that followed examined the role of public art in the slow renewal and regeneration of an African Metropolis, Johannesburg. In 2012, Johnson relocated to Johannesburg to continue to engage with its dynamic public art projects.
