In attendance at the ceremony were Mr Melvyn Caroline, Director of MEED; Mr Benjamin Schereke, Chief CurriculumManager; Mrs Ursula Esau, GET coordinator; and Mr Bienjamien Crombie, GET Mathematics Curriculum Advisor.

The district officials played a key role in recruiting the participants to the short course, as well as organizing the venue. These officials maintained a high profile during the sessions, participated alongside the teacher participants, and assisted wherever possible.

Representing UCT were Mr Gary Powell and Mr Kaashief Hassan (course facilitators) and Ms Wadeeah Fisher, the short courses administrative assistant.

Recipients of the certificates stated the usefulness of the course content, especially in terms of the way that they have since thought about teaching common and decimal fractions, ratio, and percentage.
