The Arabic Language and Literature Section teaches Arabic at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Academic courses offered

Students will be admitted to the Arabic Section whether or not they have already studied Arabic. The courses offered by the Arabic Section are designed for students of Arabic as a foreign language. Students for whom Arabic is a second or home language will be accepted under certain conditions, and after prior discussion with the Section Head.

Undergraduate courses

Initial Arabic A & B are first-year courses for those who have never studied the language before. Students who have already studied Arabic will most likely be admitted at second-year level (under certain conditions students with some prior knowledge of Arabic may be admitted to the first-year courses).
