Dr Liziwe Futuse has been in university administration work for more than two decades. While doing that at Rhodes Univerisy, she registered for her undergrad degree in Linguistics and Psychology through UNISA.  She registered for her BA Honours through UCT with the research “Analysis of intergenerational language attrition: an auto-ethnographic case study of a three generational Xhosa-speaking family”. Her MA research was an examination of how loanwords in a corpus of spoken and written contemporary isiXhosa are incorporated into the noun class systems of isiXhosa.  Her PhD research entitled “An Analysis of Loanwords In Selected Isixhosa Texts”, extended this work through an analysis of borrowed words in selected isiXhosa text.  Dr Futuse is interested in doing more research in the field of borrowed words from other languages that are used in isiXhosa.
