As a German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) fellow and language assistant, my role at the University of Cape Town is teaching German as a Foreign Language.

After I finished my undergraduate studies in German and English Studies at the University of Stuttgart, I did a bi-national Master´s program between the University of Leipzig and Stellenbosch University. While studying at SU, I also tutored literary and language courses. Upon completing my MA in German as a Foreign Language in 2019, I taught at Goethe-Institute Hanoi/Vietnam under the project Training nurses from Vietnam to become nurses/geriatric nurses in Germany (Vivantes 6).

Working with various groups of German language learners with highly diverse educational and social backgrounds has shaped my main research interests in didactics and methods of teaching and learning German as a Foreign Language. Furthermore, my latest position at Goethe-Institute Hanoi led to my interest in technical language, in this specific context in the medical field.
