CAS joins the MuseumTRRC
As part of heritage month, a public panel discussion tackled the issue of social justice for the Khoisan people in South Africa.
On Saturday, 29 September 2018, a discussion titled "Towards a Museum Truth, Repatriation and Reparations Commission (#MuseumTRRC)" was held at the Iziko South African Museum. As an expert on Khoi identities and heritage, Dr June Barn-Hutchison, of the Centre of Africa Studies, took part in this public engagement.
The panel critically grappled with the question of human remains in museum collections and explored ways on how to deal with this issue going forward.
