Dr June Bam-Hutchison: an invited speaker at the 2019 9th Asia Africa Latin America Literature Forum in Busan, South Korea

Dr June Bam-Hutchison was invited to speak at the 2019 9th Asia Africa Latin America Literature Forum in Busan, South Korea.

The theme of the international forum, held from 25 - 28 April, was Beyond Eurocentrism hosted by the Institute for Global Literature.

Joining UCT Cameroonian colleague Professor Francis B. Nyamnjoh, other invited speakers included Professor Makarand Paranjape (India); Sakiyama Tami (Japan) who often uses Okinawan language in her stories; Syaman Rapongan of Tao (Yami) aboriginal people who is also known as a writer of the ocean in Taiwan; Dr Miguel Rocha Vivas who has received Cuba’s prestigious international literature award, Premio Literario Casa de las Américas 2016; and Professor Pedro Pablo Rodriguez Lopez (Cuba).
