Nhlanhla Moyo

PhD candidate

Nhlanhla Moyo  is a third-year doctoral candidate in the Centre for African Studies and Anthropology department at the University of Cape Town. He has a background in Mining Engineering and has also Majored in Psychology at Undergraduate level up to Honours at the University of the Witwatersrand and then studied Anthropology at Masters level before moving to UCT. With this Myriad of disciplines, he also considers himself as a de-colonial scholar. Amongst his accomplishments he has contributed a chapter to a book titled “Rioting and Writing: Diaries of Wits Fallists” published in 2016, and has two pending journal articles awaiting publication, work which makes a critical decolonial analysis. His focus area is on Democracy, Violence and Ethnicity under Nationalism in a Post-colony, with particular focus on minority groups
