CAS Postdoctoral Fellow

Simphiwe Tsawu is a Post-doc Fellow at the Centre for African Studies at the University of Cape Town. His research focuses on matters related to the resurgence of traditional authorities on communal land claims under protected areas of co-management in rural areas in South Africa. Dr Simphiwe Tsawu will also intended to use the case of Dwesa-Cwebe to conduct indepth research on the role of Communal Property Associations in co-management of protected areas in rural areas where traditional authorities continue to be employed to manage natural resources by the state.
