Dr Bibi Burger

Bibi Burger received her PhD from Stellenbosch University in 2016. From 2016 until June 2022 she was an Afrikaans lecturer at the University of Pretoria. In June 2022 she joined the Afrikaans and Netherlandic section in the School of Languages and Literatures.
She is the Afrikaans-language section editor of Tydskrif vir Letterkunde, an associate editor of Matatu, and the co-founder of the feminist project Turksvy. Bibi is an Iso Lomso research fellow at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study. Her research focuses on the representation of space in South African literature, and how this is impacted by gender, race and the 'natural' environment.
