Dr Naledi Maponopono is a Senior Academic Developer: Language and Academic Literacies at Nelson Mandela University, a position she has held since January 2026. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in African Languages from the University of Cape Town (UCT) in 2026 under the supervision of A/Professor Rethabile Possa. Her doctoral research, titled “Analysis of Language Policy Implementation in Higher Education,” examined the complexities of language policy implementation within higher education institutions and its implications for multilingualism, equity, and academic success.
