The University of Cape Town's Centre for Film and Media Studies recently co-hosted the International Communication Association Regional Conference in Africa with Stellenbosch University’s Department of Journalism.

SACOMM2022 Round-Up

CFMS sent a group of 12 UCT delegates to #SACOMM2022. The conference was held at Wits University and centred around the theme “Unravelling Big Tech: Power and the Global South”.

CFMS bids farewell to Prof. Herman Wasserman

Prof. Herman Wasserman arrived at UCT in 2015 to take over the CFMS as Head of Department. At the end of this year he will leave UCT for Stellenbosch University to take up his position as Professor and Chair of its Department of Journalism.
