Students who choose this major will develop a keen understanding of the vocabulary, history and theory of a wide range of film and television genres, including Global Cinemas, independent cinema and film culture. In addition to developing cineliteracy, students will acquire a good understanding of the industrial, historical and socio-political factors that shape screen media as well as current developments in both the industry and approaches to film studies.
