Roxanne Dalton
Roxanne is a director, producer and editor at Reel Epic Productions, a brainchild she and two other CFMS graduates birthed. She once dreamt of becoming a tornado chaser but found herself grounded in the distinctly wind-free suburbs of Johannesburg. She instead settled for filmmaking in the much windier city of Cape Town.
With a background in sound design, she’s recorded sounds in Uganda, India, and all over South Africa, including searching for the perfect baboon call while working on one of South Africa’s first feature length animations, “Jock of the Bushveld”. Her SAFTA nominated feature documentary film, “Finding Freedom”, premiered at the Durban International Film Festival in 2016 and speaks to Roxanne’s passion for combining the art of filmmaking and the power of music to create compelling narratives. She may also be found juggling, doing a headstand or being the go-to expert on local tea varieties.
