Olerato Mogomotsi panellist in African Month Seminar featuring Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr Naledi Pandor

Olerato Mogomotsi, junior lecturer in the Department of Philosophy and research fellow at HUMA, will be a panellist at the Africa Month Seminar.

Dr Ryan Nefdt is one of the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of South Africa for 2021

Each year, JCI honours ten outstanding young people under the age of 40.

Dr Ryan Nefdt is awarded the 2020/21 Dean's Teaching Award

The Dean's Teaching Award is awarded annually to two humanities staff members for their contributions to curriculum development, innovative content, and student satisfaction.

Dr Ryan Nefdt receives a P-rating from the NRF

Ryan Nefdt is one of only three UCT scholars to receive the rare honour of being awarded a P-rating from the National Research Foundation.

Dr Greg Fried leaves the Department

Very sadly for the Department, Greg Fried has decided to move on to other things. During his 12 years in the department Greg has been a superb colleague.

Dr Ryan Nefdt is awarded the 2020/21 HSRC/USAf Medal for Humanities and Social Sciences for Contributions by an Emerging Researcher

The award was started in 2016 by the Human Sciences Research Council to recognise outstanding contributions to the Humanities and Social Sciences. This year it is awarded in conjunction with Universities South Africa.
