Prof Herman Wasserman returns from the University of Houston
Prof Wasserman was hosted by his research collaborator Dr Dani Madrid-Morales, with whom he co-edited a book Disinformation in the Global South, to be published by Wiley-Blackwell in early 2022. Apart from completing work on the book, Prof Wasserman also taught a graduate seminar to students at UH and worked on a media literacy needs assessment for South African secondary schools and universities he is designing with Dr Madrid-Morales in collaboration with the fact-checking organization Africa Check.
He also continued work on a major international study funded by the Canadian International Development Research Center, âMeeting the Challenges of Information Disorderâ. During his stay in the US, Prof Wasserman was invited to give talks at Temple University, Villanova University, Indiana University, the University of Maryland and the New School in New York.
