The 8th Edition of the Live Art Festival (LAF 2026) offers 5 days of performances, public interventions, music and screenings. Curated by Themba Stewart and Luvuyo Nyawose, this year’s iteration features local and international artist and takes place across the city, at UCT campuses and KwaLanga. As in previous iterations, LAF 2026 enlivens the city with non-commercial, transdisciplinary and provocative productions that go beyond convention. This year’s programme is not to be missed!
In this edition, the ICA presents the LAF-Live Action exchange through which the artist Mauritz Tisteloe will present in Cape Town, South Africa and, the choreographer and performer, Lorin Sookool will travel to Gothenburg, Sweden. Tisteloe will collaborate with local artists to create a responsive production.
The festival presents productions by artists such as Mwenya Kabwe, Alaa Minawi, Meghna Singh, Vincent Mantsoe, Gbolahan Kolawole, Oupa Sibeko, Wezile Harmans, Marie Hahne, among many.
