“Observe and be drawn into the lives of three people in a psychiatric hospital who are being rehabilitated back into society. Three ordinary people held back by nature, some by nurture, some by both. Their intricate relationships are connected by a common goal of capturing the truth. The search for truth is sometimes a not so far fetched reality and will it really set us free?” comments Thibedi. Capturing Sanity features Thando Doni, Mkhuseli Tafane and Nieke Lombard.
Thibedi , from Johannesburg, was the first winner residing outside of the Western Cape to be chosen for the bursary: “There is no other platform (anywhere in the country) that I am aware of that allows a young director to showcase their work to established practitioners in the industry”.
