Biography
Carla Lever is a South African cultural practitioner, writer and educator interested in what creativity can do politically. She holds a PhD in Performance Studies from the University of Sydney and works across live, digital and participatory forms. Her practice often escapes the usual containers of both art and education, spilling into streets, night walks, maps, archives and collective acts of making. She is particularly interested in playful, embodied ways of unsettling how we see, know and inhabit the city.
Synopsis
(C)Art is a short-form, participatory live art installation staged as a mobile snack vendor on the pedestrian threshold of the Michaelis campus. Nestled along the footpath between campus buildings, it occupies a familiar third space: the pause between lectures, the quick coffee before work, the everyday choreography of bodies shifting between modes of being.
